Advocate for Access

Hello, Carmichael community! I’m thrilled to introduce myself as a passionate advocate for positive change and a dedicated candidate for the local school board. Let me share why I believe I am the best choice to serve our students, parents, and educators:

Community-Driven Leadership

As a Carmichael resident, I’ve immersed myself in our vibrant community. My role as Deputy Director of External Affairs, Partnerships & Workforce Development at the Health Education Council has allowed me to address critical health issues related to social determinants. From mental health to financial education, I’ve worked tirelessly to create pathways for better access and well-being.

Education at the Heart

My journey began right here in San Juan School District schools—from kindergarten to high school. As a two-time San Juan High School Class President, I’ve experienced the joys and challenges of our educational system firsthand. I’m committed to ensuring that every student has the same opportunities I had.

Non-Profit Leadership

For over two decades, I’ve served in non-profit executive roles. Ready To Work, The Salvation Army, and the Health Education Council have been my platforms for transformative work. Whether working with the formerly incarcerated or the homeless, I’ve championed social justice, compassion, and community upliftment. My experiences across California and the Western United States have shaped my vision for education.

Academic and Professional Background

  • Engineer: I earned my B.S. Degree in Chemical Engineering with an Environmental Engineering Emphasis from UC Berkeley. This technical foundation equips me to analyze complex issues and propose innovative solutions.

  • Business Acumen: My Master’s in Business Administration from CSU Monterey Bay complements my engineering background. I understand the importance of strategic planning, fiscal responsibility, and effective governance.

Whole-Person Approach

I firmly believe that education extends beyond textbooks. It’s about nurturing the whole person—their dreams, fears, and aspirations. As a Commissioner with the Sacramento Housing & Redevelopment Agency, I’ve witnessed the impact of stable housing on a child’s ability to learn. Let’s create an environment where every student feels safe, heard, and motivated.

Collaborative Leadership

I don’t stand alone. I collaborate with community leaders, parents, and educators. Together, we’ll shape policies that empower our schools. My “10,000” hours of community service have taught me that transformation happens when we work hand in hand.

Your Voice Matters

I’m not just running for the school board; I’m running to amplify your voice. Let’s build bridges, break barriers, and ensure that our schools reflect our shared values. Join me in this journey toward accessible, impactful education.

Thank you for considering me as your advocate. Together, we can create a brighter future for our children—one where dreams flourish and potential knows no bounds.
